Ivan Garcia Pelayo
Author, Composer, Writer and Producer.
In the 90s he was a singer and guitarist for the group Lejos de Allí, with which he recorded three CDs. He is both a composer and a lyricist, creating titles such as “Africanos en Madrid” for Amistades Peligrosas or “Con dos camas vacías”. for Maria Jimenez. As an artistic producer, among other productions, he works on the "Homage to Jesús de la Rosa" (leader of the mythical group Triana). Another of his best-known works is the co-production of the CD of Maria Jiménez singing with Joaquín Sabina “Donde más duele”.
As a writer he has created four long works entitled Change or Exchange? (Izana publishing house), “La Superación del Ego”, ¿Cuánto te Juegas?, (these two works edited by Amargord) and “La Fabulosa Historia de Los Pelayos”, (Random House Mondadori). In 2012, a film based on this last book entitled The Pelayos was released, where he collaborates as co-producer and scriptwriter. She also publishes a short story in the book "Mujeres" and another in the book "Tejer a Pluma". On the other hand, he is a scriptwriter for the films “Alegrías de Cádiz” and “Todo es de Color” (based on the musical work of the Triana group) directed by Gonzalo García-Pelayo.
Between 1997 and 2001 he was marketing director in Spain for the Metro Goldwyn Mayer group, based in Las Vegas. He lives a year in that city studying and receiving training. Since 2010 he has been CEO and part of the shareholders of the Los Pelayos group of companies specialized in the gaming sector and online training. In 2014, together with other partners who are also composers, he developed the content program and structured the online Songwriting school lacanción.net.
In parallel, between 2001-2007 he is a member of the Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of the General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE), continuing his relationship with the entity for four more years, acting as Director Emeritus and Trustee of the Fundación Autor. Since January 2016, he has been Coordinator of International Affairs and later Director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of SGAE. He is currently the Director of Institutional Relations at SGAE.
In the associative sphere, he has been Vice President of the Andalusian Cultural Platform (PLACA) and of the Association of Music Composers and Authors (ACAM) as well as a member of the Federal Committee of the Network of Organizations of Music Authors and Performers (ROAIM) and Vice President First of the Association of Associated Musicians (AMA).
From the representation at the international level, he is the delegate of international relations of the Spanish Federation of Musicians and Authors (FEMA) and of the Platform in Defense of Culture (PDC). He has served as Vice President and is a founding member of the Alliance of Popular Composers Organizations in Europe (APCOE) and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the International Council of Audiovisual, Dramatic and Literary Authors (W&DW). He has also been a delegate of the Federal Committee and coordinator of the European Composers & Songwriters Alliance (ECSA), consultant and observer of the Latin American Alliance of Music Composers and Authors (ALCAM), Vice President of the Executive Committee of the International Council of Music Authors and Composers (CIAM) and Fair Trade Music International (FTMI).
